FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear friends,

This year 2004 started in a wonderful way for CCC. Some of the issues on which we had been working started bearing fruits. I appreciate the wholehearted efforts of our staff, the ideas from present and former trainees, the good will and cooperation of well wishers, customers of our services, guidance and support of our Governing Board and the blessings of the Almighty.

·        Saukhyam, our Bangalore branch was inaugurated on the 19th of February, 2004. We are determined to work along with other similar agencies in providing counselling services, short training programmes for NGO's and industry and enhancing the quality of life of the people of the great city of Bangalore. My inaugural speech is on the website. We are excited by this development.

·        Here at the Centre, we are having our regular 1 year and 2 month courses. In addition we are also having Post graduate students of Psychology and Social Work coming from Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mangalore.

·        CCC has been requested by Pravaham to do several sessions of life skills like - self esteem, interpersonal relations etc to a group of community college students-economically backward young girls and women from the rural areas.

·       We are providing counselling services to the internationally famous Vellore Institute of Technology, a Deemed University.

·        Our team has just returned from training 100 counsellors at a famous spiritual retreat centre in Chalakudy, Kerala.

·        Our outpatient counselling services are increasing by the day.

·        There are many invitations pending for conducting programs from Nagaland to the rest of the country.

·        We are guiding M.Phil research in Psychology for a student of Mother Theresa University.

·        Our consultation is sought on a number of important matters involving counselling.  

·       We are looking forward to another conference of the Association for Psychological Counselling (www.apcv.8m.com ) in September in Lucknow. Details will be available in a couple of weeks.

·        Our staff continues to be our strength. Every effort is going on to strengthen them through personal and professional enrichment.
